A Dedication to Lyla

We thought we’d throw this question out to the audience: is Lyla is in the house?

When we began this Bellairsia thing almost seven years ago, one group we wanted to track down were the people John dedicated his books to. Some of the people were able to locate and establish contact with, while others had passed away – still, when all was said and done all but one person was identified. The missing person is Lyla, "a good friend in a difficult time," who The Secret of the Underground Room was dedicated to.

Our only possible lead is that she may have been an employee of a New Hampshire-area bookstore during the late 1980s, around the time the book was written and subsequently published (early 1990).

With that to go on, we thought we'd see if she's out there somewhere...and, if so, please feel free to drop us a line!
