With Our Stately Presence Glorified

H. P. Lovecraft
So I was cataloging a series of children’s books on the different states and just got through looking at the one on Rhode Island. Knowing H.P. Lovecraft was a native of the state, I thought to look for mention of him.

Keep in mind now these are books geared toward the elementary school age child and I am unaware of any “Cthulhu For Kids” series on the horizon. Anyway, at the back, under Gallery of Famous Rhode Islanders:
H.P. Lovecraft (1890-1937) - Author of science fiction and horror books; he included many Providence landmarks in his stories. Lovecraft was so devoted to Providence that his gravestone reads, "I am Providence." Born in Providence.
Perhaps someday we’ll be able to open a similar book on Michigan and find John there.
