Review: Letter "A Remarkably Well-Wrought, Suspenseful Finale"

Book review: The Letter, the Witch, and the Ring

13-year-old Rose Rita is miffed because Lewis goes to camp, although kindly witch Mrs. Zimmermann tells her that Lewis's purpose is to become strong and competent at sports as Rose Rita. Mrs. Zimmermann also rescues the girl from a dull summer by taking her to inspect a farm the woman has inherited. At the scene, the friends are menaced by [the person] who has filched a magic ring, left at the farm for Mrs. Z. ... A remarkably well-wrought, suspenseful finale to a grand thriller threesome.
