We are interested in figuring out John Bellairs’s contribution, if any, to the Publication of the Modern Language Association, or PMLA.
Little is known except that John was photographed in June 1968 holding a copy of the PMLA in which his article appeared. Which article? We won't hazard a guess at this point but it could be something that appeared elsewhere or is something entirely unknown to us.
Some of us on staff, as well as some very kind volunteers, have dug around in the trenches to try and identify the article but everyone comes up empty-handed. We’ve also asked the MLA in the past on the subject but those inquiries have never been answered. Anyone have any suggestions?

I was searching through PMLA and ran across a reference to John prior to the 1968 picture. On page 91 of Vol 81, No 4, Sept 1966, John is listed as a member of the MLA. He is listed as a graduate student of English at the University of Chicago. His residence is shown as Apt 667, 1414 E. 59th, Chicago, IL 60637.
ReplyDeleteJon, Craig hope all is well. Sorry for not participating lately. College is over so hopefully more time for research.
