Summer

• Bellairs employed at Imperial Grill (presumably summer)
• "My mother owned [the] restaurant (no longer in existence) our last two years of high school and she tried to employ John, but he was so awkward that he couldn't wash dishes.  Those were the days before the dish washers of today, we had to actually wash them in hot water and rinse them in hat water heated by gas. [1]"

Fall

• John becomes a junior at Marshall High School.
