Something About Horn-Rimmed Glasses

What better to see you!

Bellairs describes Snodrog as wearing thick horn-rimmed glasses (The Pedant and the Shuffly, 7) and an outfit made of "mauve plush" covered in moons and stars and square root signs (Pedant, 25).

He's grumpy and willing to transform you into a linen napkin, but at least he dressed stylishly.

Manufacturers initially made horn-rimmed glasses from either horn (hence the name) or tortoiseshell but later switched to thick plastics designed to imitate those materials. They are characterized by their bold appearance on the wearer's face. Plastic eyeglasses mounted in popularity throughout the 1950s and 1960s, but the trend died out in the 1970s [1].

With his glasses on, Snodrog might appear similar to Buddy Holly, Lisa Loeb, or someone on Mad Men.
