Film News: Cate Blanchett in Talks to Enter 'House'

Work on the film adaptation of The House with a Clock in its Walls continues. Variety reports Cate Blanchett is in early talks to co-star with Jack Black in Amblin Entertainment and Mythology Entertainment’s adaptation of the 1973 John Bellairs book illustrated by Edward Gorey.
 The Hollywood Reporter further notes:

Black will portray the uncle [Jonathan Barnavelt].  If a deal is made, Blanchett will play Mrs. Zimmerman, the uncle’s neighbor and best friend, and more importantly, a fellow witch.

I'm visualizing the two calling each other "Weird Beard" and "Hag Face" as I type.
