#HouseWithAClock Trailer Reviews (IV)

Trailer reviews: The House with a Clock in it Walls
The new trailer for The House With a Clock in its Walls has been released - plus director Eli Roth shares some of his thoughts on what he's created in this commentary (from imdb.com):

The first trailer for The House With a Clock in Its Walls was... fine. Cool visuals, great cast, but tonally, it felt a bit awkward. Well, that’s gone in this second trailer, which ups the wish-fulfillment, fantasy, and adventure elements in a way that will get you very excited. The first trailer kind of looked like Black and Blanchett’s characters were going against the young boy, played by Owen Vaccaro. But now we know they teach him magic and how to fight monsters—which, we must say, sounds delightful.

I actually really enjoyed 2015’s Goosebumps which also saw Black in this same type of film that goes for family-friendly scares and chills. We don’t get too many of these nowadays, and truth be told, this actually looks like Roth has done a pretty good job of it. I won’t be too surprised though if at some point a cannibal appears to explicitly start eating somebody’s eyeballs while they’re still alive. I mean, you don’t shake your roots that easily.

This feature film adaptation of Bellairs and Gorey’s book was actually scripted by Supernatural creator Eric Kripke, and if you’re a fan of that long-running TV series then this movie should hold extra significance for you [...].
