- 4 - The first of four subsequent night performances of Bellairs playing the role of "Alfred 'Boss' Mangan" in Shaw's "Heartbreak House".
- Bellairs attends 10th Annual conference for English majors attending Minnesota private colleges. The conference was held at the College of Saint Scholastica in Duluth with students from 13 private colleges. The subject was William Butler Yeats.
April
- 5 - Irish writer Seán Ó Faoláin visits the College of Saint Teresa [1].
- On the afternoon of his first day (Monday), he visited Norbert Geier's British Literature class ("An Anecdotal Approach to Shaw, Yeats, and Synge") and Sister M. Bernetta's classes on English composition.
- 6 - Irish writer Seán Ó Faoláin visits the College of Saint Teresa [1].
- On the morning of his second day he visited William Goodreau's class in poetics.
- He later spoke at two convocations in college auditorium:
- 11:15 a.m.: "The Essential Pleasures of Fiction"
- 4:15 p.m.: "An Irishman Looks at the World"
