Memoriam: Matthew Tobin

Actor Matthew R. Tobin has died. He was 78.

A native of Indianapolis, Indiana, Tobin appeared on television as a character actor during the 1970s and 80s on such programs as The Jeffersons, The Ropers, Simon and Simon, and The Young and the Restless, to name but a few.

In 1980 Tobin appeared alongside Keith Coogan and the late Dody Goodman in the television adaptation of The Treasure of Alpheus Winterborn, portraying the dastardly Hugo Philpotts.

Tobin died June 16 in California.
