Marshall will host a four-day premiere event in September around the release of the film....
"If you want to know what Bellairs saw and where the magic came from, you want to come to Marshall," Amy Crisp of Choose Marshall said.
A premiere reception will be held on Sept. 21 at the Cronin Mansion, 407 N. Madison St., the inspiration for the fabled house in the book and film. The reception will include magicians and a book signing by author Brad Strickland, who was commissioned by the Bellairs estate to complete his unfinished manuscripts "The Ghost in the Mirror" and "The Vengeance of the Witch-Finder."

Marshall residents - new and old - are gearing up for the Red Premier Opening of the film. If anyone is in the area, please drop by. My husband is a distant cousin to John and while they wish John was still with us to enjoy this moment, they are so happy that the his writings are about to be explored by many that hadn't heard of him before, as well as the enjoyment by those - like all of you - that are already fans. Please enjoy all that is to come!! K Dean-Monk
John Bellairs babysat for me, my sister, and my brother on occasions when his sister was not available.
Glad to see Brad Strickland attending. Hope this leads to new novels in John’s series’.
I went to elementary school with John's son Frank in Haverhill. John used to come in about every week or so a read chapters of his books to us. He was quite kind & Frank was a great kid. Sad to see they're both gone. -M
