Bellairs fan Jon Caulkett notes John Bellairs's Wikipedia article has been creatively rewritten to include this new fact:
Some believe that Bellairs is not actually dead but is the ghostwriter (no pun intended) of the Harry Potter series. The similarities of Bellairs' writing style to that in the Harry Potter series is striking to say the least. J.K. Rowling was chosen to be the "author" purely as a publicity stunt, a poor, single, working mother that had never written a fantasy novel would be much more popular in the minds of mothers all over the world than a middle-aged, male established fantasy writer.
Right.
