Film News: Jackson’s 'Thriller 3D’ to Play on IMAX Screens with ‘House'

The Associated Press reports that Michael Jackson’s estate and the IMAX company are partnering to digitally remaster Michael Jackson’s Thriller 3D for a special theatrical presentation ahead of director Eli Roth’s The House with a Clock in Its Walls.

Thriller was directed by John Landis, and it first premiered in 1983. The estate’s co-executors said in a press release that Michael Jackson always wanted to offer his fans the, “latest and greatest in technology and entertainment experiences;” and a full-blown IMAX experience most certainly fits that description.

The double feature will begin playing in theaters on September 21, 2018, with Michael Jackson’s Thriller playing just before House.

Bellairsian fans enjoying Thriller no doubt will recognize the voice of Vincent Price, who hosted the 1979 anthology program that featured the first adaption of House - which really wasn't that much of a thriller.
